Tennis Elbow Treatment Options
Tennis elbow is a term used to describe the painful inflammation of the tendons and muscles that connect the forearm and elbow. Though a common injury among tennis players, tennis elbow is simply caused by overuse of the wrist and forearm and can affect anyone – regardless of whether they play the sport.
Tennis elbow often heals on its own, though many people seek treatment to relive the pain it causes. When you visit MedRite for treatment, a doctor will examine your forearm and elbow and talk to you about your symptoms. He or she may recommend:
- Physical therapy, which we offer onsite at our facility
- Heat and ice therapy
- Pain mediation
- An assistive device such as a sling or brace
It is unlikely that an imaging test be necessary to diagnose tennis elbow, though our doctor may decide an X-ray is needed to rule out other injuries. If this is the case, we can conduct an X-ray onsite using our own equipment.
If you are suffering from tennis elbow and require treatment, visit MedRite Urgent Care in New York City. We never require appointments or referrals and accept all major forms of health insurance to make it as easy as possible for you to get the care you need.
